"My name is Tamara Jorden and my daughter just celebrated her 6th birthday at Yin Yoga in Parker. We chose that as a party idea because Lilly has been doing yoga with Roberta & just loves it. I was amused that a 6 yr old had such strong feelings for it, but all the kiddos in her class seem to feel as enthused. We'd done the bounce house parties the last couple years and were exhausted from that (sometimes literally!). Total chaos. The yoga party seemed a nice contrast. As it turned out, the party was a big hit with the kids. Even the boys thought it was really cool. We we still had lots of young, festive energy, the vibe was so much more positive. Even the gifting ceremony (as Roberta called it) was lovely. Sometimes these things turn into the child opening & they have no real idea who gave what. That's a bummer for the gifter. This approach allowed the child to present their gift to the birthday girl as the group watched. It was very sweet. So there were lots of nice aspects of the yoga party. A number of my friends mentioned they think it's a great new option. It was such a fresh, positive direction that the kids loved.
-Tamara Jorden

Prenatal Yoga – Practicing yoga during my two pregnancies helped me prepare myself both mentally and physically for childbirth. Because of my yoga practice, I was able to have both of my children through natural childbirth. After my children were born, I continued to practice yoga to gently restore the structure of my body and help myself heal. It is through my own experience that I developed a prenatal yoga program and post-natal recovery program that is suitable for most women during and after childbirth.
Deanna Hirsch, RYT, is the prenatal instructor at The Yin Yoga Center. Deanna says this about her prenatal yoga classes:
Nothing brings me more joy than guiding women along their journey to motherhood through yoga. Having experienced the restorative powers of yoga during my own pregnancy, I am pleased to share this practice with others. Prenatal yoga is a wonderful way to treat the symptoms and stresses of pregnancy and prepare the body for labor. I believe in giving students a practice that will benefit their bodies, their babies and their spirit. Through meditation and modification, I encourage women to be kind to themselves and to listen to their changing bodies. I truly feel that the first step to being a great mother is taking great care of ones self. I am passionate about creating a comfortable space for expectant mothers to nurture themselves and bond with one another.
Yoga was instrumental in my having a healthy, happy pregnancy. It served me through labor and delivery and many sleepless nights. Yoga continues to benefit me as a wife, woman and mother of a sweet and spunky three and a half year old little girl! I hold that same intention for all of my students. Namaste.
Please join Deanna, Wednesdays 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. , to learn a practice that will help nourish and support you and your baby during this amazing time.
Post Natal Recovery – This six-week program focuses on healing the body, strengthening the core muscles, working through the emotions of being a new mother, and learning how to center and focus the mind. You will receive a copy of the postures we learn so that you may practice at home. Your new baby is welcome to join us for each session! Schedule your first appointment with Roberta by calling 303-840-0411. Cost: $300 for 6 private sessions.
Post-Partum Conditioning – Once you have permission from your doctor to begin strength training, Deanna will design a training program to help you meet your personal goals. Using a variety of balls, bands, weights and isometric exercises, your training program will be tailored to your specific needs. Schedule your first appointment with Deanna by calling 303-840-0411. Cost: $200 for 4 private sessions.
